A Personal Story

Your grandfather was the great Akazi shaman, Mako, who repulsed a terrifying attack by the lich known as the Skeleton King. Seeking revenge, the Skeleton King sent a shade to kill you when you were a young child. Your grandfather used his mastery of Arcanity to trick the lich into thinking he had succeeded, meanwhile secretly hiding you in the small Village on Volcano Island. But soon afterward, your grandfather abruptly vanished and you never saw him again.

A time of peace returned to the Akazi people but as you are about to come of age, Tanzia is once again in peril. In your adventure to find and defeat the evil that is threatening your village, you will complete a series of increasingly challenging quests. You will face and defeat intelligent enemies while uncovering clues that answer long standing questions about your childhood and your family’s history. Your grandfather’s aptitude for Arcanity runs through your blood, but will you be strong enough to save your people as he once did?

Action and Adventure

The Akazi elders of Tanzia have researched a combination of Arcanity and Alchemy, giving them a large array of spells and potions. You can vanquish even the most difficult opponents by studying their weaknesses and carefully choosing which spells and potions to combine.

In Tanzia, you can gain an advantage over your enemies by being quick on your feet and by perfectly timing your spells and attacks. Or, if you prefer a more studious approach, you can use your Arcanity, Alchemy, and exploration skills to conquer your opponents.

Arcanity and Magic Spells

As you become more experienced, you can seek out shaman trainers who will teach you more powerful spells. Arcanity draws power from the environment to affect its target. Some spells, like Fireball, can damage multiple enemies at once. Darker Arcanity includes voodoo spells that invade the mind and spirit of the victim. Voodoo practitioners are reclusive, but they may be willing to train you if you seek them out.

Alchemy and Potions

The shamanic art of Alchemy allows you to combine herbs and other reagents to create potions that have powerful effects on the body. Some have immediate effects such as healing wounds and others have longer lasting effects. The history books even tell of potions that can transform the shaman into powerful creatures, but these have not been seen in recent times.

Optional Quests and Zones

For the more adventurous shaman, there are optional quests and even optional areas to explore. If you wish, you can explore the less traveled parts of Tanzia to gain access to powerful spells, potions, items, and people that can help you in your quest.
